Spring has sprung and who doesn't love a spring / summer getaway? With those getaways sometimes it's easy to forget to sweat. I know sometimes I do! But don't let that be the reason why you don't get up, sweat, and try something new. Like most families, we stay true to our traditions and as a family we have made it a part of our tradition to be active in some shape or form while adventuring on vacation. Here are a few helpful hints on how to break a sweat even vacation time. 1. Long walks in the morning with company.
Whether it's getting up to go walk for coffee or even get the dogs some exercise, walking in the morning can be a great opportunity to sweat and be together. My sisters and I even through in a few squat sessions or lunges while walking. It is a great way to catch up, start your morning right, and get that blood pumpin' before a long eventful day ahead of you. 2. Hike your way to healthy Hiking can be a great way to get outdoors, breathe some fresh air, and experience something new with family and friends. My favorite time to hike is during sunrise so that way you can make a yummy breakfast afterwards with everyone. Hiking is also something everyone can do, no matter what age or activity level you are at. Plus is an opportunity to adventure and check out nature where you are visiting. 3. Free Class Most gyms and studios have some awesome deals for newbies. This is also a great time to sign up for a session at your favorite workout place or even try something new. Get moving, break a sweat, and be active even during the relaxing vacation time. 4. Run Run Run My favorite thing to do while traveling or while in a different location then my normal community is go on long runs. Treat yo self to a new pair of running shows and break those babies in throughout the season. It is a great way to see the landscape and area of where you are visiting and can even be how you get to and from to that new coffee shop you want to try in the morning. 5. Yogalicious Fun Yoga is a great activity to take up during vacation time, especially if traveling can sometimes cause some unnecessary stress. Lets face it, we all have some type of crazy in our family so why not get away and breathe for a bit. Stop in at a yoga studio and ask for their weekly pass or even their drop in fee. Most studios have great deals going on and won't break the bank. These are just a few ideas on how to get moving and grooving during your vacation and getaway time. Don't forget though, it is all about balance and not being too hard on yourself. If you miss a workout once or twice a week, don't sweat! We all have those crazy moments when getting a work out in seems impossible, but use it as motivation to get up and moving for the following days to come!
